Fashion is architecture. It is a matter of proportions. - Coco Chanel

When talking about clothes, fashion and style, the topic that often comes up is dressing for your body type. In today's world, with all the body shaming that happens the topic has become somewhat taboo. Teaching someone how to dress for their body type should not be taken as insult saying that this type of body does not look good in x,y and x. It is however, suggesting that knowing your body and what flatters it best will enhance your overall appearance.

I am by no means implying that everyone should scrap their entire wardrobe and start from scratch with clothes that best suit their particular body. At the end of the day, clothes are clothes but knowing how to wear them, especially to suit your body is where style gets put in play.

Knowing how to dress for your body does not mean that you can no longer wear something that does not by definition fit your body shape. As you saw, the inverted triangle shape for example, should dress to make the upper body look less broad but that does not mean you can't rock that spaghetti strap dress. More importantly than dressing for your body shape, being confident is the best way to draw all the eyes in the room.
